With planning the majority of things at the very beginning of my wedding planning process, I’ve been able to enjoy a relaxing couple of months with little stress and virtually no worries about the big day. However, over the past couple of weeks, I’ve experienced the Wedding Planning Lull. This is when you don’t have much to plan, design, create, etc., because either one, you’ve already crossed it off your list, or two, it’s still too early to do anything.
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m big on to-do lists and making sure I plan out what still needs to be done and when I plan to do it. I wanted to reach out to my fellow Weddzilla bloggers and readers in the hope that you could help me get through this lull and beat the wedding planning blues.
Here’s what I’ve completed so far:
* Venue
* Dress
* Cater Chosen
* Wedding Cake

Historically, I’m an impatient person and like to get everything done now so I don’t have to worry about it in the future. But because I have a lot of the big stuff done, I’m a little confused on where to go from here so I stay stress-free. Am I just being crazy, or is this impatience and wedding planning lull normal? Please help!

It’s definitely normal! I did certain things so early that I had a long period of time when I wanted to keep working on things but couldn’t start them yet. It’ll pick back up again before you know it.
I was just saying this to my sister last night! I did so much leg-way in the beginning that now I feel like I have nothing to do. Its a little too early to start any DIY projects and now I feel like precious time is passing me by! I am up to date on all my lists but I feel the need to do something! Looks like you have a great majority of your list complete!! It definitely pays to be organized!
Yes,honey, so normal,now is the time to have some fun and enjoy being engaged! Please, give yourself a pat on the back and be happy that you are so well organized that you are able to take a break in the planning, enjoy this time! This is for you also, Classic Bride.
I’ve been engaged for a year and a half (getting married two weeks from Saturday) and I was the EXACT same way! That’s actually kind of why I started blogging… it was a way to talk myself through things and make sure I had everything covered. I will tell you that I thought I had the invitation making under control until we figured out that the petal fold envelopes that we bought are 5×7, if you don’t want to close them, so we had to trip the inserts and our invitations went out about a week later than I wanted.
As someone who has just about everything done way before I should have, I can tell you that when you get to the point that you are 2 weeks out and you are getting to the stuff you had to wait on, you’ll be happy that you got stuff done well in advance.
If you know for sure that you aren’t going to change your mind about your table linens or your music list, go ahead and do it! You don’t have to send your music list just because you make it… get it done, let it sit for a while and then just double check it before you send it off!
Everyone is right… the lull will pass very quickly!
Too full, the wedding day is a happy and very hard day, must not miss any of them a very important tips, thank you.
