Hello everyone!! I am so excited to be sharing my wedding planning process with everyone here at Weddzilla!! I feel like there is so much to talk about that I just do not know where to start!! So everyone knows, Stephen and I are getting married on October 22, 2011. I’m so happy to tell everyone the date, but Stephen and I have decided to keep the venue and the location of the wedding a secret for now. I hope you will all understand!
When Stephen and I first got engaged, we were so excited to start planning our lives together. Although a wedding is so exciting, to me it’s even more exciting to be sharing my life with one man! Going into the wedding planning process, I really wasn’t sure what I wanted. We changed our minds a couple of times about the wedding date. First we wanted to do it in the spring, then we finally decided on the fall. I simply love fall colors more. I love all the brown, orange and dark red of the season when the trees are changing for the fall. It’s so warm and welcoming.
The fall also reminds me of the holidays approaching. I love the holidays. It has always been such a wonderful time spent with family. I have many memories of spending Thanksgiving with my big, fat, Greek family. It’s my favorite pastime. Now that Stephen and I are engaged, we always spend Christmas with his family. The Stag family is one of a kind. They are amazing!! So much fun, so caring, and so warm and welcoming. Just the kind of family I am happy to be a part of!
Since we had the date finally set, it was time to start planning. For a year, I was the co-host of Get Married, so I know a little about weddings, but I’m no genius…not yet anyway! With the help of a wedding planner, things are coming together so easily! I have yet to experience any stress or anything like that. So, for all you ladies out there who find the wedding planning process to be a bit stressful, GET A WEDDING PLANNER. It’s totally worth it! The wedding planner knows exactly what we want, our budget, and the planner knows us as a couple. It makes it easier on everyone.
A friend of ours, Wendy Parker, actually planned our engagement party as well. It was beautiful and it gave me a preview of what our wedding will be like! So, from working with a wedding planner from day one, it has made things so much easier on Stephen and I…I believe it makes it easier all around! Another thing that I really love about a wedding planner is that they help me make decisions. When I am presented with too much information, I really cannot make a decision. It’s like I get too confused or something?! So, the wedding planner offers me a few options, and then it’s easier for me to decide! It makes everyone happy! I’ve enjoyed having a wedding planner so much that I may switch careers and become a wedding planner myself!
I cannot wait to share more details about my wedding planning process in the upcoming months. There is so much to do and so much to say! I am thrilled that I get to share it with so many of you!!
XOXO,
DeAnna

Welcome, DeAnna! :) I’m thrilled to have you on our team sharing your story! Your inspiration board is stunning, and it sounds like your wedding plans are really coming together beautifully. I completely agree with your advice about hiring a wedding planner, too. I am starting out as a wedding coordinator myself, and it’s great to be able to make a bride’s already hectic life less crazy in any way I can. At my wedding, my own day-of coordinator allowed me to relax and enjoy the day without worrying about the details. Looking forward to your next post!
DeAnna, I love your inspiration board! Everything looks as though it is sure to turn out well! Can’t wait to hear more about your wedding and welcome to Weddzilla :)
