Wedding Website RSVPs

Wedding Website RSVPs

79 days!

I hope you all don’t mind counting down with me.  Brian and I are pretty web savvy, and we decided, even before picking our stationery, that we would want people to RSVP online.

Here is the information card that will go out with the invites:

We also let people know early on what was available on the website by putting it on our save the date.

I’m glad we used information cards, because ordering response cards and envelopes (plus postage) would have increased our cost.  Here are the factors that went into picking our invites:

* Color Scheme: self explanatory

* Theme: we wanted it to be contemporary but still have enough traditional elements to make our parents happy

* Paper: I needed high-quality, recyclable paper

* Cost: definitely needed to be cost efficient

And our thank you card:

We also have direction cards as part of our invitation suite.

Have you had much success using a website as an RSVP tool? So far, we have had several people RSVP, and they haven’t even received the invites yet.

I would love to hear from you. Are you using traditional response cards? Online responses? Phone responses? What are you having the most luck with?

  1. We will probably use traditional response cards. I just had some friends who used the rsvp cards as well as the website rsvp. Both were very user friendly!

  2. We used traditional RSVP cards because we had a number of elderly guests, but one of my clients is doing online RSVPs and loves it! She has it set up through wedsimple.com to receive RSVPs for her rehearsal dinner and other wedding weekend events, allowing guests to update their addresses and more. It’s working out really well so far!

  3. We are having people RSVP by email or by phone! We had initially wanted an online RSVP but we have quite a few older relatives that may not find it too handy! Very pretty invites though! 79 days! Whoohoo!

  4. I asked people to rsvp online for our destination wedding and only a hand full have. I am hoping we will have more success with our party back here. My fingers are crossed! Although I may follow Copious and do phone and email

  5. I gave our guests THREE options…yes thats right THREE *sigh* On my invite I gave them an option to cut off a piece to RSVP on, only one person did this (a very elderly couple) and the rest RSVP’d through the email we gave them or online through our knot.com website. Most people did online, it was quick and efficient. Although, in hindsight I wish i did RSVP cards as it would have been fun to get those in the mail!

    Your invite suite looks amazing though. love it.

  6. I do believe that the excitement of getting RSVP’s in the mail is something every bride should experience but I have had brides that do a RSVP e-mail address. This seemed to be very efficient and saved them the money of postage and an envelope.
