Are you thinking of having a cake for the groom at your wedding? It’s simply a smaller cake that honors the groom, as the wedding day is usually all about the bride. The most popular version was seen in the 1989 movie Steel Magnolias, where the groom’s cake was a red velvet cake in the shape of an armadillo. The groom’s cake is a time-honored southern tradition that has made a major comeback with weddings from Atlanta to Sacramento.
The cake is generally designed around the groom’s hobbies and interests. So, if the groom’s favorite sport is NASCAR, some of today’s most talented cake designers can craft a cake into an actual car.
If the groom enjoys playing golf, this will knock his socks off!
If the groom enjoys playing poker with his friends, he’ll definitely enjoy this cake!
If you want to add another nice detail to your wedding, give some thought to surprising your fella with a cake to call his own. Happy planning!

I love the groom’s cake trend! That cake from Steel Magnolias is just too funny. I’ve seen some awesome designs this year, and think it’s great that couples are making this tradition a part of their celebrations again.
we’re having a grooms cake. the main tradition you see for grooms cakes is that they’re chocolate (at least here in Texas), so ours will be chocolate :) yum!
