Deer at Your Wedding? Miranda Lambert & Blake Shelton’s Unusual Menu

After about a year of engagement, country crooners Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are planning to tie the knot this weekend in Texas!

Lambert had a series of tweets this week pertaining to her upcoming nuptials, sharing what she had already crossed off her to-do list and what she has left to do.  ”I am so excited. Got nails touched up. One last wal mart run and I should be good!” she tweeted with excitement.

But what came next is something only a down-home southern gal and gentleman could really appreciate. “Last thing loaded for the wedding!!! Harvested by….me!!!!!”  What exactly did she harvest, you ask? Deer! The tweet was accompanied by a photo of the wrapped-up meat.  Shelton was proud of his dear and tweeted the following, which included the same picture of the meat, “What does YOUR girl have for dinner?”

But for those of you who have been following the couple closely, the news of serving deer at the wedding should not come as a surprise, as Lambert has said in the past that this is what they have planned for, and had hoped to harvest it themselves.  It seems as though she is a woman of her word!

The two have been together since 2006, and worked on several projects together, showing that business and pleasure can mix if done correctly.  Congrats to the two!  Looking forward to seeing some pics!  But keep the deer pics to yourself. This vegetarian can’t stomach that!

  1. You know, I think I read an article recently saying it’s become more of a trend this year to serve these types of food at weddings. I couldn’t stomach it, either, though, so I hope they have other options for their guests!

  2. I’m not a fan, but I somehow think this wedding is going to be outrageous and fun! I can’t wait for pictures. Let’s hope they have a vegitarian option… and a chicken option.

  3. I love that! And I love that it’s “one last trip to Walmart.” Really, it’s the extreme DIY, and I give them kudos.
