Yours truly loves a fall wedding. The wonderful weather and the leaves changing create a sense of calm where you can truly take inspiration from Mother Nature. Just look at all the possibilities she gives us for wedding décor. There are three major items I love to see incorporated in fall weddings and they are all quick and inexpensive upgrades for your wedding.
Ok, hear me out. I know fruit is not inherently romantic, but when you incorporate it in your decor they liven up a reception. I love the look of glass fruit bowls filled with ripe red apples. You can decorate the base with beautiful flowers and let your guests enjoy the gentle apple scent wafting up to greet them. It is a simple but stunning arrangement that is crisp and clean just like fall. For a tasty and decorative treat, garlands of dried apples can double as décor, favor, or a snack before the main meal.
Along with apples, pumpkins create a visually stunning addition to your wedding. You can use miniature pumpkins to create unique placeholders or combine them with pinecones to create a gorgeous and rustic piece to highlight your aisle. The warm shade of pumpkin will also brighten any interior without losing touch with the season. You can match it with warm browns for a harvest-inspired wedding theme or create an eye-catching and sophisticated color palette by pairing a pastel orange with a similarly muted green.
Combining pine cones with pumpkins creates a striking display for your aisle, but pinecones work well as a stand-alone element. I love, love, love to see trees decorated with pinecones hanging from them attached by an elegant ribbon tied to the tree. Even better, this simple style doesn’t require you to break the bank. If you’re feeling particularly crafty, you can paint the pinecones in your wedding colors to really make them pop.
Fall weddings are stunning and you can have a striking wedding if you’re willing to harness Mother Nature’s gifts. Using common elements in an uncommon way will help you design the perfect décor and inspiration is right outside your door. All you have to do is step outside and look around, the possibilities are endless.
