I’m not psychic, but when you plan over three hundred destination weddings every year, you start to see patterns. This year, even psychics will tell you to expect the unexpected.
Travelers are more informed now than ever and they want more value for their dollars than ever – when you combine that with the desire for more experiential travel, destination weddings will become more adventurous than usual. But, proximity and price will also be important factors. I predict that some of the lesser known Caribbean spots will rise in popularity, like the private island experience at Fowl Cay, resorts in Costa Rica’s cloud forest, or my favorite island, St. Lucia.
Sharing an adventure with your closest friends and family brings everyone you love closer together. I can’t wait for this trend to come into full swing because I love this kind of trip. I’ve even been ziplining with one of my brides – talk about an unforgettable wedding.
