Posted by Karen {Serving39toWife}
Giving in to peer pressure {and the desire to have decent photos on our wedding website}, we ARE going to do an engagement shoot!
As some of you may know, I debated the merits of the e-photo shoot. As in, do we need to take 200 photos a little less than a year before we are about to take 2,000 photos? Is it a little self-indulgent? Will they be contrived and posed and totally unlike us? Is this an expense that maybe we should apply to something else, like any one of a million little things we need to purchase for the wedding and our future life together?
After talking it over with Old Dude, he was like, “Sure, let’s do it if you want.” Me:
I immediately contacted our wedding photographer before Old Dude changed his mind {or I was able to confirm that the aliens had indeed abducted him}. Unfortunately, while our photographer was willing to work with us on a location and a price, it was still cost prohibitive.
I voiced my lament to a friend and she put me in touch with one of her photographer friends, Inhar Chong {check out e-photos on her blog}. I totally love her work {and just try to look at the photos she’s taken of children and NOT smile}. If she can work with cranky babies, she sure as heck can work with us! I am confident that she will be able to capture what we want and at a price we feel comfortable paying. She’s been very responsive and we are looking forward to working with her.
The photo shoot is scheduled for this Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Please pray for lovely weather {and a minimal post-turkey day gut}. I’ll share all the deets and the photos once it’s done.
