Ask Weddzilla: Heirloom Engagement Ring

When my fiancé proposed, he gave me his grandmother’s engagement ring. I appreciate the thought, but it’s really just not my style. What should I do?

Gently explain to your fiancé that while you love the symbolism behind wearing his grandmother’s ring, your personal style is a bit more modern. Consider a compromise by having his grandmother’s diamond placed in a ring setting of your choosing. That way, you can wear a ring that is still an heirloom, yet also uniquely personalized to match your taste.
