The Thirty-Something Bride / Louise

I am so psyched to be a part of the Weddzilla Family!

I am a thirty-something first-time bride planning and paying for a wedding on my own. My fiancé and I got engaged in December 2008 and I jumped head first into the planning process. I was not a fan of anything wedding until, through a friend, I discovered wedding blogs! What a wonderfully supportive community! I don’t think I could have accomplished anything without this outlet. Seriously.

A little bit about me:
I am creative, bossy and frugal. I love tuna fish sandwiches and chocolate milk. I am blessed to have traveled all over the world. I’ve met amazing people and have experienced amazing things. I’ve run marathons, jumped out of airplanes, kayaked the Rio Grande rapids, climbed the Great Wall of China, surfed in Hawaii, caught a 200lb Marlin in Cabo San Lucas and rode The Bullet train in Japan. It took coming home to The South to find my Southern Gentleman Prince Charming. I love all things shoe-related. I love the smell of babies and cherry tobacco pipes. I sew, knit, cook and obsessively read classic literature. I am sarcastic and self-deprecating. I can’t wait to marry the man of my dreams, whom I lovingly call The Candyman.

I can’t wait to share the final stages of my planning as I hit my stride here in the home stretch! Only four more months to go! Yippee!!
