Blogger: WeddzillaWhat! Say It Ain’t So!
Posted by WeddzillaI checked the mail yesterday and much to my dismay I found a postcard that said the following…
“Dear Modern Bride Subscriber,
With regret, we have decided that we will no longer be publishing Modern Bride.
In place, we will be sending you Brides for the duration of your subscription term. We think you will love Brides, it’s the #1 magazine in America for women planning a wedding and honeymoon. Brides delivers fresh ideas, expert advice and visually inspiring fashion and beauty features.” {ectetera, ectetera}
Don’t get me wrong I like Brides magazine just fine. But first Elegant Bride, and now Modern Bride. The supply of my ultimate guilty pleasure, that which is bridal magazine is dwindling. Thanks recession… thanks a lot

I was bummed- especially since I subscribed to Brides & Modern Bride at the same time to get a discount on the advice of the publisher! What am I going to need Brides for 2 years for if I'm getting married in May 2010???

I have the same problem… I got my Modern and Elegant postcards in the mail the same day. I'm tempted to tell them to send me the money, but then again… I'm sure I can read them after I'm married!

I know… InStyle Weddings is folding, too. It’s a shame to see so many great magazines taking a hit in this economy.
