Posted by WeddzillaThursday, June 18, 2009, Alex, Kristen, Krista, and myself went to Salon de Couture in Adams Morgan, Washington, D.C. to have our hair done as brides. Below are some pictures of our up-dos and some questions we asked. Enjoy!
Back of Krista’s hair. Gorgeous!
What we love about the salon:
- They have the experience and understand how important it is to have the perfect hair on your big day.
- The up-dos really do last throughout the night (mine lasted 2 days!)
- They will travel to you on your special day.
I have shoulder length hair

1. How long have you been doing hair? 11 years!
2.How many weddings have you done before? I’ve done so many I’ve lost count.
3.What trends do you see with wedding hair? Wedding hair is always customized and tailored to what the bride wants.
4. Will you only do brides at the salon? Or will you travel to them? We’ll do both
5. How long for an up-do usually? 1-1/2 hours depending on the length of the hair
6.What do you do to ensure that the look is secure? I’ll secure the base with a ponytail holder and hair pins.
7. How should the bride come to you? Hair should be cleansed and dried the night before.
8. Any tips for brides to be? Bring in pictures of looks that you like.
9. How far in advance should a bride book you for your services? 2 weeks
10. Are these specific styles that work best for short, shoulder length, and long hair? With the use of hair extensions, any look a bride wants can be achieved.
Thank you to Salon de Couture for taking the time to create these wonderful up-dos! We really appreciate it!

Great job Salon de Couture – you guys are awesome!
I have heard stylists say that it is very stressful to do a bride's hair. I have a lot of respect for them!
