Approximately 6 months, one week and two days stand between my wedding and me…

…not that I’m counting down or anything.

Ahh, who am I kidding?! I’ve been counting down the days until my wedding since DGC slipped the beautiful Roberto Coin ring on my left ring finger. Actually planning said wedding, however? Yeah, not so much...

I mean, don’t get me wrong. I’ve done a few things. I have my dress. I have my colors. I have my wedding party. And I have a general idea of what I am going to do, but as far as putting it all into writing and signing the contracts…well, I haven’t done that.

But today is the day.

You see, as I type this, I can hear the waves on Seven Mile Beach crashing in the background. There is a gentle breeze, and the sun is coming up over the horizon. (And apparently there’s also a small hurricane named Ida that may or may not be headed this way. Go figure.) My mom and my future mother-in-law are waiting in the next room. This is it.

My wedding planning trip.

So much to do, so little time. I have venues to check out, caterers and florists to interview, and a minister that must be found. All before my plane departs the island at 3pm on Sunday. Yikes!

Fortunately for me, my Maid of Honor has put together a detailed “Go See” packet for me. She has set up appointments and has narrowed down vendors to the creme of the crop. She knows exactly what types of florists will stand up to the Carribean heat, and who I should get to steam my silk wedding gown prior to the ceremony. She’s good. Reeeeaaalllly good.

All that being said, I know I’ve been a little MIA lately, but let’s face it — I really didn’t have anything to share about my wedding. I kind of felt like we were at a stand still for so long. But not anymore!! So, prepare to be bombarded with photos, ideas, and details about my upcoming destination wedding! I hope you don’t mind if I bring you along on my little journey to the aisle!
