Call the presses. I’m about to reveal a huge secret. That not even my BEST FRIEND knows. (Although they might find out after this posts… ha!) Weddzilla, be glad I love ya. The question is… how did Brian and I meet?

Well, it has a TON to do with this guy.

Yes… THE Mr. Chuck Norris got us together.

How, you might ask? Well, a few days before the Colts won the superbowl in February 2007, I moved to Indianapolis. For a few months I made a friend or two, tried to go out, and start building a life. However, some nights I just had no life whatsoever. Enter April 17, 2007. I was browsing the MySpace, BORED out of my mind. I decided to search people my age in my area, not looking for a date, just… bored and curious. And the #2 person on the results?

This guy! My handsome hubby-to-be! I saw that picture (I cut out his friend on the right for privacy) and HAD to click. He was and is exactly my type (visually) and I had to know more.

I hemmed and hawed, reading his profile over and over. He had a Chuck Norris joke in there, so I sent him a message. He got a message from this gal not long after in his inbox. WOW this was a long time and many pounds ago…

This is the beginning of our conversation:

Hi Brian… I was just browsing MySpace and came across ya… and thought I would say hey! Your love of Chuck Norris may have met it’s match. I’m fairly jealous that you live in Broad Ripple… I just moved to Indiana in Feb. and I tend to spend lots of my time there on the weekends!

Hope you’re having a great week!

Kelly

**I love how I played up how I go out to Broad Ripple, the fun bars area (I had been 3 times at that point!) Great job playin it cool, Kelly!**

His response, later that night…

Hey there… theres nothing better than a great episode of walker texas ranger to get you going, u know? I heard a rumor that his tears cure cancer. Haha, its good stuff.

Anyway, yeah Broad Ripple is nice, especially in the spring/summer. Hopefully you didnt decide to live on the southside, that would be trouble!

By the way, what would bring you to good old Indy?

Brian

**Ok, ok… he played it cool too! I tryed to further charm him with my wit and humor…**

Hey Brian! I think the best thing about Chuck is that he decided to bottle his urine and sell it… and man do I love Red Bull.

HAHA no southside for me- I’m north-something side (clearly new) but right near the pyramids. I work for (Insert Sorority I worked for Here)- yay interfraternalness- and just graduated in December. I’ve known I wanted this exact job for a while now so I’m loving every second of it.

What’s the best place you recommend frequenting in Broad Ripple?

and ps- I hope you don’t think I’m sketchy! I promise you I’m not at all : )

Kelly

**phew! The convos go on and on and on…**

I ended up despising that job and wanting out almost every day for two years (until I got laid off.) I also ended up successfully wooing that man! Three days later- April 20, 2007- we met up for some Blue Moons and conversation. The rest was history!

Whew… it feels good to have that off my chest!!!!!! What secrets have you kept from your family and friends like this? I tell everyone we met at a bar… not necessarily a lie! I am so glad I met Brian, but wish we had met some other way. Do you not “love” the way you met your fiance?
