Blogger: WeddzillaChoosing the right veil
Posted by WeddzillaIn the midst of picking a veil but not sure the right length or style? There are so many different styles and types that you are bound to fall in love with one of them.
Whether you want short or long, classic or modern, there is something out there that can work for you. There’s the finger-tip, the fly away, the chapel length and the Waltz length just to name a few!
Your first step in picking the right one is to decide the length that you want. It can go from super short; the bird cage style, chin length, waist high or all the way to the floor. It really depends on the style of you and your wedding.
If you’re leaning towards a longer veil but are worried about getting lost in the fabric don’t fret. Just because you choose long over short doesn’t mean you have to wear it in front of your face. A lot of brides wear it flipped back, after all you are paying a pretty penny to get your makeup done, why not show it off!
If you’re still torn between the big number of veil choices then check out this article. It gives you a lot of information on not only veil types but also what kind of dress goes best with each as well as a little background on the era some of them were most popular in.
I chose a longer veil (catherdral length to be precise) but my bridal shop was able to add a small flower bustle to the veil, so I will be able to shorten it for my intro at the reception and the first dance. I recommend brides checking to see if their bridal shop can do something similar if they are interested in wearing a long veil as well.
I’m going with a fingertip-length veil, but also a pearl and crystal headband. After the ceremony and photos, I’ll remove the veil and just stick with the headband.

my veil was seriously one of my favorite parts of being a bride.
