Getting hacked SUCKS!

Well, I got hacked. Yes, I am now a victim of computer hacking. No, I didn't fall for that "I'm a Nigerian Princess and I have 3.5 billion dollars to split with you!" scheme. I may be a lot of things, but that crazy...I am not! :)

On Monday my father called me to tell me my bank account was WAAAAAYYYY overdrawn (when I went to college, he opened my bank account as an easier way of transferring money & I just never removed him) and I rushed on my banking site to check it out. Yep, I was very much overdrawn & I knew it couldn't have been right because I had just gotten paid the Friday before. I checked my payments and saw that 3 payments of about $185 had hit my account from PayPal. Now, I use PayPal frequently (in fact, before Monday, I LOVED PayPal), but I knew I had NOT purchased anything totaling THAT much. I called PayPal and they confirmed that a third-party had hacked into my PayPal and purchased over $500 worth of MP3 downloads (or something similar) from a website. I was P.O.'d, indeed.

So-to make a long story short-until PayPal resolves this issue, my bank account is overdrawn and my PayPal account is being squared away. I have no idea how someone hacked into the account, but after doing my research, I saw that a number of PayPal users have been hacked & drained dry too. Sure, PayPal pays your money back...but being without money until they do so SUCKS.

So pardon me if I'm not on posting about bridal stuff. Eh...I'm a little down-in-the-dumps. :(
