Who me? Wow…thanks for choosing me and even better, reading what I have to say about weddings. You can say that I have experience; I’ve planned over 400 ceremonies already. None of them being mine. I worked as a wedding coordinator for over two years, it was fun and it helped me to “unplan” my wedding. Because of that career, I decided to keep my wedding simpler and less traditional. There will be no place cards, there will be no bouquet toss and the wedding is in Vegas. But we live there, so it only makes sense.
Flo hails from the West Coast (Seattle) and I hail from the East Coast (NE PA), we met (almost) in the middle (Las Vegas) at a dog park one afternoon when my Beagle missed Flo’s shoe (barely) and dropped his excitement near Flo’s foot. We exchanged numbers and it all began with a simple text, “hi. How are you?” Ever since, we’ve been inseparable. We travel along this journey together, as two people, who, if you were going to gamble on us, you’d pick that we would probably not get married. Flo is a Weather Anchor, I’m an event planner, we are both Type A’s and both claim Aquarius as our sign.
The irony over our meeting is uncanny- our birthdays are a day apart, we have several mutual friends and have been invited to the same parties before we actually met. The good news is that we met and are about to begin our happily ever after….
We decided on a “cocktail party” themed wedding and have just about stopped there. Well, we have a budget, venues, a date, some colors…but that is it. We are funding this event ourselves and enjoying every second of the process.
I’m thrilled to have you along for the ride…if you crave more details you can follow my blog, The Nearlyweds.
Cheers!
