GET ON THE GUEST LIST - "ROCK THE LAUNCH" - FEB 25TH

Just Announced - DC Flash MOB

Introducing New Featured Bride Blogger - Michelle L.

Hi everyone! I am a recent grad and I am engaged to my best friend and college sweetheart, Jeff. We work at law firms in Manhattan and we live in Brooklyn, but we are planning a Catholic wedding at our alma mater in DC.

Taken the night of our engagement, Valentine's Day senior year.

Jeff and I decide to finance the wedding ourselves, with a budget of $10,000. We came to this decision in part because of the economy and our own limitations, but mainly because we want the wedding to be a true reflection of us. We would both be huge pushovers with regard to wedding decisions if the bill was footed by anyone else. Another good thing about financing the wedding ourselves is that we literally cannot go over budget. We are NOT using credit cards, so we can only spend money if it is in our pockets. (...in theory.)

At our senior picnic-
notice the stylin' armbands.

I have been a member of the blogosphere since April, with my wedding inspiration blog {Things I love}. It started as a way to catalog my endless wedding ideas for my bridesmaids, who are in five different states (DC, ME, NJ, NY, VA). It has since turned into a full-blown addiction to all things wedding-related.

Halloween junior year,
as Wayne and Cassandra from Wayne's World.

What to expect from my posts: I am a hot mess of ideas, so I will do my best to be organized. I love lists, and I use visual aids as often as possible (since we only have this one post to get acquainted, I decided against wedding-related photos and chose instead to litter it with a few Facebook photos of me and Jeff) (oh, that reminds me: I use a lot of parentheses). I draw inspiration from a TON of wedding blogs/sites/magazines/tv shows, but I try and balance it out with regular doses of sources related to fashion, design and crafts. Also, I am a die-hard foodie, so you can keep an eye out for the occasional recipe post.

I am so thrilled to be a part of the Wedzilla community! I look forward to sharing my wedding planning journey with you, as well as hearing your ideas. Please don't be shy!
